Economic and Social Data Service: Guide to Data Sources for Northern Ireland

Creator:

Williamson, L., Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) Government

Subject Keywords: DATA, GOVERNMENT, SURVEY
Set: Fuel Poverty
Catalogue: Data
Data Catalogues
Type: Report
Region: Northern Ireland
Description:

The aim of this guide is to provide a resource to researchers who want to study Northern Ireland. For the most part the main large-scale government surveys, especially those supported by ESDS, are covered in detail (methodology and sampling design for Northern Ireland, the main themes or topics and some examples of recent work using the survey). Smaller scale surveys of Northern Ireland and/or other non-ESDS sources are also listed and links to the data or further resources are given. For a general exploration of the datasets that are specifically for Northern Ireland see the ESDS website. Another useful resource for information on datasets (although not Northern Ireland specific) is the current dataset holdings arranged by theme at the Data Library at Edinburgh University. Useful publications, similar to this guide, can be found on the CAIN web page: A Guide to Carrying Out Research on Northern Ireland and the Conflict.
