Description:

The 2003 report of the Steering Group on social and equality statistics presents the results of a scoping study undertaken to look at what needs to be done to develop Irish social and equality statistics that would meet current and impending policy needs. It identifies data within existing administrative records that could be used to build social statistics and asks those involved in policy making in government departments and agencies to identify data needs in the context of the growing importance of evidence-based policy making.
