This booklet has been written for parents/guardians as well as others who take care of children and young people e.g. extended family members such as grandparents, older siblings or aunts/uncles. In the booklet, the terms child, young person and â?~son or daughterâ?T are used in the broadest sense possible in order to cover the age span from 0 to 18 years +. Remember, the earlier a parent/guardian starts to talk to their child about drugs and alcohol the better. This booklet may also be of interest to others who . work with young people e.g. teachers, youth workers, community and social care professionals etc.
